Merry Christmas to all visitors of mj’s photolog. Thanks for your continued interest in my images.
This image is the result of using a pinhole “lens” cap on my 20D. Lowtech meets hightech, sort of. ;-)
From Dec 2nd until Jan 12th, the exhibition “Stadtbild Köln” is on display in the city hall Cologne Lindenthal. As a member of the group I’m showing eight of my images from the Cityscape Cologne series.
The exhibition presents a body of work showing various objects, subjects, and aspects found in the city.
See the German version of this page or the official invitation (PDF, German) for more details.
And also the Stadbild Köln photoblog for more information about and images from the project.
Now in the fourth year, we went to Hallig Gröde for a gorgeous summer vacation.
Some of the images can be found here in the new album Hallig Gröde 2006. You may also want to have a look at my photos on flickr, which also include a set Gröde 2006 with many more images to appear there. In addition there is a new photoblog Hallig Gröde featuring the images from flickr with German language descriptions and comments.
After the initial first images of the total solar eclipse, a complete travel report is now online.
To somehow capture the memories of the trip to the total solar eclipse in Turkey, I wrote a travel report of the entire trip, including more images, not only of the solar eclipse, but also of the places visited in Turkey. Currently, the travel report is available in German only. The image shows the town of Uchisar in the Cappadocia area.
Black sun over Turkey on 29th March 2006.
Reloaded. Optimized images from the solar eclipse, removing some of the haze. This photograph of the total solar Eclipse was taken on a location near Akörenkisla/Büyükburnak which again is near Konya, Turkey. There is a new album Eclipse 2006 with images from the trip to Turkey (more to come), including some more images from the totality.
That’s what the old halls look like today.
The nicely derelict old parcel distribution halls had been completely dismantled and reerected. Now it contains the showrooms of the new “Design Post”.
Derelict remains of the old parcel distribution halls of the postal service.
This used to be parcel distribution building of the postal service (now DHL, which have a new building nearby) in Deutz, before the expensive conversion to the “Design Post” showroom. More image can be found on the corresponding page of the Cologne album.
Photos from a visit to the south tower of the Cologne Cathedral – a fee buys you a steep climb – with some interesting views.
During the last days, I’ve started to rework a number of last year’s digital images from Cologne. These can be found on the extended Cologne album page. I started with some photographs from the interior south tower of the Cologne Cathedral, which are available on the corresponding album page. All of these images are also available as high quality Epson K3 inkjet prints, on matte, luster, or glossy paper. Contact me if you’re interested.
A bend in the road cuts thru the strata of vulcano ash.
After leaving the National Park and turning on the TF-24, the road on the “spine” of Tenerife, the Cumbre Dorsal, offers many excellent views back to the Teide and on the coast far below. And at La Tarta also a good view of the “inner workings”.
Just opposite the visitor center, a desert-like area of Teide broom.
While Jenny and Susanne went to the visitor center to watch the movie about the vulcano history of Tenerife and the Teide, I took a stroll along the path heading of to Arenas Negras. The Teide broom bushes and the dead wood create a special mood in this place.
