Gamsberg Drive
Back on the Gamsberg, Namibia after a long CoViD hiatus. After the heavy rain season in spring 2022, the access pad (gravel road going up the mountain) was severely damaged and not passable for even a 4WD. During summer Nic of adjacent Farm Weener and his workers did a superb job in repairing the pad. So in August we went up …

Fagradalsfjall Volcano Eruption
A trip to Iceland in September, with high hopes to see the Fagradalsfjall volcano in action. At first a bit disappointed, because activities stopped just before we arrived, we were lucky on the last but one day and the fourth hike into the volcano area. A splendid display of lava fountains and flows from the late afternoon into the night. More images/videos to come!
Turkey 2006 – Kilistra, Çatalhöyük, Mevlâna Museum Konya
Finally completed the album with images from the trip to Anatolia, Turkey for the total solar eclipse on 29 Mar 2006, somewhat in time for the 15th anniversary.
Namibia 2019 – Hakos
Auch 2019 war wieder Hakos, Namibia auf dem Programm, dieses Mal “nur” Astrourlaub pur mit reicher Ausbeute, da zwei Wochen lang “Schönwetterkatastrophe”, auch für Namibianische Verhältnisse. Die astrofotografischen Ergebnisse gibt’s schon länger im hier Blog, eine Zusammenfassung u.a. im Deep Sky Video 2017-2020. Ergänzend neu in der Galerie eine kleine Bildserie “drumherum” – Hakos Guest Farm, Rooisand Desert Ranch, Groot Gamsberg Farm.
