Total Solar Eclipse China 2008 - The Book

A new blurb book with images from the trip to China and the total solar eclipse of 01 Aug 2008 is available.

The images were already posted here in the China 2008 and Eclipse 2008 albums. The book Total Solar Eclipse China 2008 comprises 228 pages with a large selection of these images and the text (bilingual English/German) from the travel report available here, already posted in an earlier version to my ipernity blog (German).

Finally, the images from the total solar eclipse on August 1st are online.

The climax of our trip to China was the observation of the total solar eclipse in the camp near Jinta, Gansu province. The images are now online in the new album Eclipse 2008.

This image shows the diamond ring just a few seconds before totality. Posted at flickr, it generated a huge interest with more than 5500 views.

Book Presentation

The book stadtbild köln will be presented during the Lindenthaler Kulturnacht.

Part of the programme of the Lindenthaler Kulturnacht (see PDF) is the presentation of our new photography book stadtbild köln, see also the previous post here. I would be delighted to meet you in person, and there is also the chance to get the book signed by the photographers.

The presentation takes place on 16 May 2008, 20:15 in the foyer of the district city hall Lindenthal, Aachener Str. 220, Cologne, Germany.

You might also be interested in the outdoor portrait session starting at 22:00, meeting point room 1.43.

See the PDF for the complete programme of the Lindenthaler Kulturnacht.

The picture by the way is not the venue, but the opener of the stadtbild köln book. ;-)

stadtbild köln

The new website stadtbildkoeln.de went online a few days ago.

stadtbild köln is the new photography book by Sabina Derl, Jörg Henne, Martin Junius, Hans Löhr, Ingo Neumann, Alexandra Schmitz, Christian Unbehaun, Oriane Viale und Birgit Voegels. Cologne of course, but certainly not your usual postcards.

The images which you will find on the following pages are refreshing, spirited, original, authentic, powerful and honest. They are never tawdry or trivial, neither silly, boring, nor pleasing. And they do not need any annotation to enrich.

Also available as a printed book on blurb.
