Due to other distractions ;-) (see here and here) it took some time to review the images from a short visit to Vienna, Austria in May 2008.

The images were already posted here in the China 2008 and Eclipse 2008 albums. The book Total Solar Eclipse China 2008 comprises 228 pages with a large selection of these images and the text (bilingual English/German) from the travel report available here, already posted in an earlier version to my ipernity blog (German).

Finally, the images from the total solar eclipse on August 1st are online.
The climax of our trip to China was the observation of the total solar eclipse in the camp near Jinta, Gansu province. The images are now online in the new album Eclipse 2008.
This image shows the diamond ring just a few seconds before totality. Posted at flickr, it generated a huge interest with more than 5500 views.

A trip half around the world for the total solar eclipse, the new album China 2008 features a lot of impressions from our travel to Beijing, Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, and Shanghai. (There will be a separate album for the actual eclipse images, see also my images on ipernity and flickr.)
