Continue readingSo many animal picture to dig through … but here comes a first selection of images from our 4 day visit to the Etosha National Park, Namibia in September 2023. Unbelievable, the sheer number of animals at the waterholes and along the pads during the dry season.
From some depth of the archive: images from my first trip to Prague, back in May 2009, now added to the other Prag 2009 stuff in the corresponding album.
Gallery > Photography > Travel > Prag 2009
Interestingly, a lot of the somewhat derelict facades photographed back then, have been refurbished and look way better today or on Google streetview.
From the deep vaults of the archive: back in 2009 an unexpected balloon ride provided some exceptional views.
Another CG in Puppis, also called “God’s Hand” trying to snatch PGC21338, but for me it looks more like a sandworm.

Continue readingFrom the deep vaults of the archive: a serie of images shot in Prague during a short business trip in June 2009, using my old LX3, thus a lot of “Panasonic noise” in the shadows.

Heavy snowfall converted the south of Northrhine-Westfalia into a picturesque winter landscape. Couldn’t resist to give my camera an airing.
Continue readingRecent data from the IAS remote telescope, collected over two nights. NGC 1546, NGC 1549, and NGC 1553, plus IC 2058 in this field of view in the constellation Dorado. The interacting galaxies NGC 1549 and 1553 are part of the Dorado Group.
