The photobook of the Texas – Austin, Houston, Galveston series is now readily available at my Blurb bookstore. Even if you don’t want to buy it, paging through the preview gives a good impression of the book, which I think turned out rather well.
Die Serie Texas – Austin, Houston, Galveston is jetzt als Fotobuch bei Blurb verfügbar. Auch wenn man es nicht kaufen will, kann man beim Durchblättern in der Vorschau einen guten Eindruck gewinnen. Ziemlich gut geworden, finde ich.
Nach 2017 brachte uns wieder eine Sonnenfinsternis über den großen Teich in die USA, im April 2024. Die Wetteraussichten favorisierten Texas, daher ging’s dann dort auch hin. Das mit der Sonnenfinsternis wurde noch spannend, aber zunächst einmal standen die Städte Austin, Houston und Galveston auf dem Programm, deren Portrait sich in dieser ersten Bilderserie findet.
After 2017, another total solar eclipse brought us back to the US, in April 2024. The weather forecasts favoured Texas, thus that’s where we went. Things turned out a bit differently with the eclipse, but the first part was a visit to the cities of Austin, Houston, and Galveston, portrayed in this first series of images.

Another image from the total solar eclipse of 08 Apr 2024, a highly processed HDR composite of the corona, using 13 x 2 exposures from 1/1000 to 4 s.
There was a bit of a focus problem which I noticed only when reviewing the telephoto frames. Thus, my TSE 2024 shots aren’t as sharp as they could be.

Aus der USA-Serie sind zwei Fotobücher bei Blurb entstanden, hier kann man in USA Northwest Vol. 1 und USA Northwest Vol. 2 blättern. Käuflich erwerben lassen sie sich natürlich auch. ;-)
Wie immer habe ich die Fotobücher mit Scribus erstellt und erfreulicherweise ist der seinerzeit dokumentierte Work-around für das PDF-Upload-Problem nicht mehr notwendig, Blurb hat die von Scribus 1.4.8 erzeugten PDF/X ohne Probleme akzeptiert. Und diesmal waren die Dateien mit knapp 1 GB und 1,5 GB wirklich “fett”.
Als letzte Station der großen Nordwest-Tour wieder zurück in Seattle, diesmal auch mit ein paar Impressionen der Wasserseite. Zu sehen ist links das Hausboot, das in “Schlaflos in Seattle” als Filmkulisse diente. Alle Bilder sind im Album Seattle zu finden.
