Total Solar Eclipse 08 Apr 2024 – Corona Composite v1

Another image from the total solar eclipse of 08 Apr 2024, a highly processed HDR composite of the corona, using 13 x 2 exposures from 1/1000 to 4 s.

There was a bit of a focus problem which I noticed only when reviewing the telephoto frames. Thus, my TSE 2024 shots aren’t as sharp as they could be.

Einsturz Stadtarchiv

Heute vor 15 Jahren, am 3. März 2009 um 13:58 stürzten das Kölner Stadtarchiv und zwei Nachbarhäuser in der Severinstraße ein, verursacht durch gravierende Fehler beim Bau der U-Bahn.

Insgesamt sind 3 Tote zu beklagen, zwei während des Einsturzes, eine Überlebende beging 2010 Selbstmord. Zwei Wochen vorher führte hier der Rosenmontagszug entlang, das hätte ein viel größeres Disaster ungeahnten Ausmaßes werden können.

Die juristische Aufarbeitung ist auch 15 Jahre später nicht abgeschlossen.

So many animal picture to dig through … but here comes a first selection of images from our 4 day visit to the Etosha National Park, Namibia in September 2023. Unbelievable, the sheer number of animals at the waterholes and along the pads during the dry season.

Massen von Tierbildern, die erstmal abgearbeitet werden müssen … aber hier schon mal eine erste Auswahl Bilder von vier Tagen im Etosha Nationalpark, Namibia im September 2023. Unglaublich, welche Mengen von Tieren an den Wasserlöchern und entlang der Schotterpisten während der Trockenzeit zu sehen und zu fotografieren waren.
